Transforming a Traditional Tools Business into E-commerce

Role

UI/UX Designer

Duration

2 Months

Platform

Mobile & Desktop

Diziben is a long-standing business in Tehran’s industrial tools and safety equipment market. For years, it operated entirely offline, building a loyal customer base locally. To expand beyond the local market and reach customers nationwide, the client decided to launch an online store. This project involved building Diziben’s digital presence from the ground up, creating a brand identity, developing a UX strategy and designing a full e-commerce platform.

Challenge

The transition from offline to online presented several challenges:

  • Establishing a new digital brand identity while keeping the trust of long-time customers.
  • Designing an intuitive e-commerce experience for both individuals and businesses.
  • Addressing customer concerns about product authenticity, delivery, and online payments.

Visual Direction

We started by defining Diziben’s new digital identity. A moodboard was created to capture the essence of strength, reliability, and safety. From this, we developed a color palette, typography system, and finally a logo design that symbolized the brand’s move into digital.

Research & Analysis

  • Market & Competitor Review: We studied leading e-commerce platforms in the industrial tools sector.
  • Customer Feedback: Insights were gathered from existing in-store customers, while short interviews with customers from other cities revealed concerns about trust and delivery reliability.
  • Key Findings: Users valued easy product discovery, clear specifications, and proof of authenticity.

UX Strategy & Wireframing

Using the insights, we created the first set wireframes for both desktop and mobile. Key screens included:

  • A structured homepage highlighting categories.
  • Product detail pages with technical specifications and safety certifications.
  • A streamlined checkout flow to minimize friction.

Wireframes were reviewed with the client in multiple iterations, and once approved, moved into the UI design phase.

The final designs brought together the brand identity and user experience:

  • Consistent visual system across desktop and mobile.
  • Product categorization that allowed customers to quickly find what they need.
  • Trust signals, such as reviews, certifications, and clear customer service options.
